It is well constructed and with a 2-foot length, it works well for use on small projects. Amazon did not have any more in stock so I had to return that one too and my wife only got one level in her stocking. I received the 3-in-1 with a few weeks to spare but opened it find that one of the level "bubbles" had no fluid in it. The stud-finder is a compact design and works really well. I got that one on Christmas Eve. I ordered this and another B&D level, the BDSL10 (known as the "picture hanging level" by my wife).
Also loved the idea that it had a stud finder/mini level attached that you can slide out and use. I have since picked one up from a local hardware store and I can say that this is a cool level. Ordered them both for my wife's Christmas stocking stuffers after she saw the commercials on TV and I realized that I would not have to go back and fill numerous "miss" holes with spackle. and saw the same problem. I would recommend this to a friend. I loved the idea that this level had little non-slip, spring pads that help keep the level on the wall while you made your level marks.
This has been a cold winter, so I thought that maybe it was the weather so Amazon promptly accept my return and sent me another one.
Way Way off. Seemed like a good deal - however flip it over and you get a different reading. one side reads level one side reads not level.
B & D name is a plus for sure. Husband loves the versatility of this item. Got one for son, too.
I just one of those yesterday. Upon calling the toll free B&D number the helpful lady said "Oh yeah. I don't know why they have such a problem with these being empty." (The bubble vial) You can get much better quality for less. As mentioned in another review I also received my level with one of the vials empty. This coupled with the fact that the level does not "test" the same when rotated 180 degrees makes me wonder about the quality of this made in China item.
This is an easy product to recommend. Also included is a stud finder. But it does a solid job and helps add definite value to the purchase of this product. Is it the finest stud finder on the market.
A level is an essential tool for many household projects and this 24" model from Black and Decker is a solid choice. It's solidly built and includes not only a very good level, but a serviceable stud finder. Finally, the rubber pads are a big help in holding the level steady against most surfaces and this can be a big help from time to time. It's long enough so that you can feel you're getting a good read on drapery rods or other items that may be fairly big, yet it's small enough that it isn't too unwieldy.
No. It's not going to impress many professional contractors, but is perfect for do it yourself projects around the house. Better still, it contains a pull out 9" level if you need a quick read on something small. This is a particularly thoughtful addition since stud finders and levels will very often be used in the same projects.
